Slow Cooker Taco Soup


1In a large skillet over medium-high heat, heat oil until hot.

2Add turkey and onion and cook 5 to 7 minutes, or until turkey is no longer pink, stirring occasionally.

3Place mixture in slow cooker, then add remaining ingredients; stir to combine.

4Cook on LOW 6 to 7 hours.

  • If your diet allows, you can try topping each serving of this taco soup with a dollop of reduced-fat sour cream and chopped cilantro.
  • Need your soup in a hurry? Cook on HIGH 3 hours.


1 tablespoon canola oil

1 pound lean ground turkey

1 cup chopped onion

Salt to taste

1 tablespoon chili powder

2 teaspoons cumin

1 teaspoon garlic powder

1 cup frozen corn

1 (15-1/2-ounce) can black beans, rinsed and drained

1 (4.5-ounce) can diced green chilies

2 (14-1/2-ounce) cans no-salt-added diced tomatoes

1 cup fat-free, reduced sodium chicken broth
