Frequently Asked Questions
What is Prodigy Control Solution used for?
Prodigy Control Solution can help people test Prodigy-brand glucose meters. With this solution, diabetes patients can gauge a Prodigy meter’s accuracy as easily as they would perform a standard blood glucose test.
How long is control solution good for?
People with diabetes should not use Prodigy glucose meter control solution after it has been open for 90 days. Expired control solution is also unfit for use.
What is the normal control solution range?
You can find your control range for Prodigy Control Solution on your current vial of test strips. When your results are within this range, your meter is working as intended. Contact your healthcare team for further advice if these readings fall outside the listed range.
How do you use the control solution on a Prodigy meter?
To use Prodigy Control Solution, apply a drop of solution to a compatible test strip like you would apply a drop of blood. Then, compare your test results to the range listed on your vial of test strips.
How often should you use a control solution?
Diabetes patients should run control tests with Prodigy Control Solution at least once a month. You should also perform a test when you open a new vial of test strips, change your meter’s batteries, or suspect your meter may be inaccurate.
